A North Country woman won big on a minor bet during a recent trip to a local casino.The Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort reported that Jeanette Seymour of Plattsburgh won a whopping $72,267 while playing a slot machine on a bet of just $1.76.Four days later, an Ellenburg Center man also got a big payout, winning $32,389 on an $11 spin, according to the casino.Resort officials said they had their biggest winner of the week when a Sanborn, NY man visited the casino during a trip to see his children. Tuesday morning's opening of the $780 million Durango Casino Resort comes 15 years after the company opened its last development.  Red Rock Resorts President Scott Kreeger said a dry spell like that won't be repeated. The company already has a few locations in mind for expansion. He said Durango's opening is the blueprint for Red Rock's development plans — building resorts in areas around the Las Vegas Valley where the population is growing, the economy is expanding and the company is not represented in the gaming landscape.
